The challenge between top coffee tasters, at Factory Food Designers
Autogrill, in collaboration with Cimbali Group, has just opened its doors to coffee operators, coffee lovers and anyone else keen to know more about the world of quality coffee and discover the allure of a competition that challenges ultra-sensitive noses and palates to recognize every nuance of aroma and taste.
On 20 November, Avolta’s centre of research and development excellence, Factory Food Designers, in Autogrill’s headquarters on the outskirts of Milan, was the venue for the North leg of the Italian Cup Tasters championship. Promoted by the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Italy, the event enabled professionals, coffee lovers and the simply curious to explore the world of Specialty coffee and show their sensory skill in recognizing particular aromas and tastes.
The challenge involved 20 participants, putting their senses of taste and smell to the test in identifying the nuanced aromas of various cups of Specialty coffee. For Autogrill and Cimbali Group, who’ve been working together since 1950, this competition is a new opportunity to strengthen a longstanding partnership based on a shared passion for coffee and also to promote Italian excellence.
