The collaboration

The partnership between Autogrill and PizzAut Onlus, an association whose mission is to raise the awareness of government and society in general of the topic of autistic people’s employability, also by opening the first ever pizzeria run by autistic staff, began in April 2024 with the secondment of a young man, Edoardo, from the association. The aim is to support and promote inclusion and job placement projects.
Inclusion is important for us at Autogrill, as we are working to create an inclusive organization and corporate culture.
This is why we invest in projects that effectively favour employment of the more fragile, offering equal opportunities and recognizing the value of differences. The key point for us is putting people front and centre.

We have always felt strongly about the values of inclusion and integration, so it was natural for us, together with PizzAut, to launch GourmAut, the sandwich that nurtures inclusion.

From 30 July to the end of October in fact, the new GourmAut will be on sale in our stores in Italy. Part of the proceeds will go to PizzAut.

Self-produced advertising

The campaign

Did you know that the advertising campaign supporting the launch of the GourmAut sandwich was self-produced?

The young people at PizzAut helped us create a communication project with their incredible talents: Beatrice, a formidable cartoonist, produced the illustration featuring in all the communication materials; Edoardo, who has been seconded to Autogrill, is the speaker in the video and Andrea, a talented violinist, plays in the video made with them.

The GourmAut sandwich

And the GourmAut sandwich?

Every part of it was carefully designed, starting with its new round shape, from which four portions can be cut, making the sandwich ideal for enjoying in company, making it a symbol of inclusion in fact.
The raw materials too – selected for quality – were chosen to produce a taste experience springing from a blend of genuine flavours: Prosciutto Praga (ham), courgettes, Robiola di Bufala (cheese) and dried tomatoes.

From 30 July to 30 October 2024, Autogrill will donate 1€ to PizzAut for every portion sold, up to 200,000 portions. The proceeds will go to support PizzAutoBus, a project offering jobs to other autistic people, and to the association’s various activities.

Talking of PizzAut

PizzAut was founded by Nico Acampora in 2017 to raise the awareness of government and society in general of the topic of autistic people’s employability.
