All the pleasure of Italian food, at the airport too.
A new Eataly restaurant opened at Orio al Serio Airport on 15 December. Launched in 2007 thanks to an idea of Oscar Farinetti, Eataly has shared with the whole world the best of Italian food and wine from producers that are little known but of inestimable value and whose common denominator is their focus on quality and environmental and economic sustainability.
Eataly means eating all’italiana, not only from a purely culinary viewpoint but also in terms of our country’s food and wine production and traditions. Whether it’s departure or arrival, treat yourself to a break at Eataly and choose your culinary experience.
Orto and Fritto – Kitchen Garden and Fry-up
The Orto menu features fresh, light dishes made with the season’s finest raw materials. You can choose between healthy and dietetic dishes that are already plated or compose one to your own tastes.
Craving for extreme tastiness? On the Il Fritto menu, you’ll find meat, fish and vegetable dishes, including several kinds of croquettes (eg. supplì), enabling you to discover fried food of the highest quality.
La Pasta and La Griglia
You’re a lover of 1st courses? At La Pasta, you’ll find all sorts of pasta, from spaghetti to tagliatelle (even mezzi paccheri!), with traditional sauces like pesto or tomato but also reinvented ones pulsating with flavour. There are meat, fish and vegetarian dishes, meaning something for everyone.
And if you want to try the finest meat, selected by Eataly’s experts, drop in at La Griglia, where the chefs will make you a tagliata (slice of beef) or a hamburger while you watch, served with grilled seasonal vegetables or roast potatoes.
Wine and Cocktail Bar
A simple break can become a big experience for the palate. Come and taste some top quality Italian wines, fruit of passion, age-old traditions or innovative methods but always rooted in their particular terroir, from wine areas all over Italy. Red wines like Barolo or Chianti, white wines from the best wineries, and sparkling wines and rosés arousing strong emotions, especially when paired with one of the dishes on the menu. And if you’re really wowed by the wine, you can also buy a bottle of it before continuing your journey.
Coffeeshop
For a breakfast worthy of the name, there’s also La Caffetteria, a coffeeshop that’s also perfect for travellers who prefer a zippy lunch or snack while waiting for their flight, offering a wide selection of sandwiches (toasted or tramezzino) and focaccias, but also pastry and coffee products for a sweeter break.
